It is with deep concern and shock that I take a moment to reflect and address the recent, disturbing attempt on the life of President Donald Trump. Today, July 13, 2024, will be remembered as a dark day in the history of our nation, marked by an attack against the democratic process and the safety of a public figure.

As I watched the live coverage of the presidential rally in Pennsylvania today and the attempt on the life of one of our own, President Donald Trump, I could only feel shock, great sadness, and trepidation for the coming days and months. This attack against democracy and the safety of a public figure has left me deeply concerned and appalled.

We, as a nation, must firmly denounce any efforts to undermine the democratic process and stand in solidarity with the enduring principles of democracy and unity in our nation. This chilling incident serves as a stark reminder of the collective responsibility we bear in safeguarding the integrity of our democratic institutions.
